Learn About Nature Through Birding – Registration Required

June 7 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am

*Registration Required* Join Red-tail Land Conservancy and Robert Cooper Audubon Society to learn about nature through birding! This youth birding outing is open to all age groups, but materials will be geared towards ages 8-15. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.   Please use the link in this Post to Register in Advance 

Participants will:
-Using a birding scope, get a close look at an osprey nesting platform, and likely the osprey!
-Learn to use binoculars. (Loaner binoculars will be provided for the event.)
-Spot late migrant birds and some of our Indiana nesting birds.
-Learn about the relationship between native plants, insects, and the birds they support.
-Learn about and plants and birds of the prairie vs the woods, and lake.

Whether you’re a first-time birder or a budding naturalist, this outing promises a morning full of wonder, discovery, and fun! Learn about our tweeting, chirping friends and familiarize yourself with our avian Hoosiers. Come ready to be amazed by the beauty of birds and the magic of nature all around you.

EVENT DETAILS
-Date/Time: Saturday, June 7, 2025 from 9:00-11:00am
-Location: Red-tail Nature Preserve (10441 South Co Road 461 E, Selma, 47383)
-What to bring: Clothes and shoes fitting for the weather, rain or shine. A water bottle.
-Registration: This program is free to attend, but registration is required.
-Parking: Parking at this nature preserve is limited. Please plan to carpool if you’re coming as part of a group. If parking lot is at capacity, you may park along S County Rd 461 E.
