Juneteenth is a federal holiday in the United States commemorating the emancipation of enslaved African Americans. June 19, also known as Juneteenth marks the anniversary of the announcement of General Order No. 3 by Union Army general Gordon Granger on June 19, 1865, proclaiming freedom for enslaved in Texas.
You are invited to join Juneteenth Muncie for the annual celebration to acknowledge the past with consciousness to inspire the future, while focusing on opportunities to Engage, Enjoy, Educate, & Empower.
All are welcome! There will be free food, activities, entertainment giveaways and so much more!
