Spring Break Fun for Families in Muncie Delaware County 

Spring break sneaking up on you? Consider a staycation as the perfect way to explore Muncie and Delaware County with your family! Here’s how to make the most of spring break near you. 

Explore Nature at Minnetrista 

Spring is a beautiful time to visit Minnetrista, where kids can run through the gardens, explore the walking trails, and enjoy the outdoor sculptures. Check out the museum exhibits, browse local goods at the Orchard Shop, and stop by the Oakhurst Experience to step back in time with the George and Frances Ball family.

Hands-On Fun at the Muncie Children’s Museum 

For an interactive and educational experience, the Muncie Children’s Museum  is a must-visit. Kids can climb through the Ant Wall, shop in the miniature grocery store, explore a unique version of Muncie at the Muncie & Western Railroad, and hop behind the wheel of the Big Rig. There’s even a perfect spot for tots to play. The museum’s gift shop offers a sand art experience for just $2, too.

Discover the Stars at Charles W. Brown Planetarium 

Take a break from screens and experience the wonders of the universe at Ball State’s Charles W. Brown Planetarium. With free shows open to the public, families can explore the night sky, travel to distant planets, and learn about space in an immersive setting.

Cheer on the Ball State Cardinals 

Spring athletics, including baseball, are coming into full swing! Take the family out to the ball game and show your team spirit for Ball State women’s basketball, swimming and diving, tennis, softball, and even gymnastics. Grab some tickets and enjoy a family-friendly atmosphere filled with local sports excitement.

Indulge in Local Eats & Treats 

Spring break is the perfect excuse to try a few of Delaware County’s best restaurants. Concannon’s Bakery is a must for donuts and sweet treats or eat and play at The Clubhouse Muncie. Spots like Cammack Station, Mancino’s Muncie & The Sweet Shop (take in the new dining room mural while you’re there), and Greek’s Pizzeria offer delicious meals the whole family will love.

Visit the David Owsley Museum of Art 

For a more laid-back afternoon, take the family to the David Owsley Museum of Art at Ball State University, admission is free!
