Delaware County Historical Society Annual Meeting & Centennial Celebration

November 12 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Please join Delaware County Historical Society in celebrating our 100th Anniversary on November 12 at Cornerstone Center for the Arts. Speaker Gib Young of Huntington will discuss Hoosiers who have made their mark in Hollywood. Christiana Mann of The Culinary Cottage will create hearty hors d’oeuvres based on several books written by Muncie’s own Emily Kimbrough.
The evening will also feature a silent auction and book sale. Please bring cash or checks.
Afterwards, the celebration will continue at RoHo’s Martini Bar, 308 South Walnut Street, with a screening of the 1944 movie, “Our Hearts were Young and Gay” starring Gail Russell, Diana Lynn, and Charles Ruggles. The movie is based on a book written by Emily Kimbrough and co-author Cornelia Otis Skinner. “In 1923, two young ladies depart unescorted for a tour of Europe and meet two eligible men aboard the ship. Their great naivete’ and efforts to seem grown-up lead them into many comic misadventures.”

Cocktails will be available for purchase.
Tickets for the centennial celebration are $42 per person and can be purchased at delawarecountyhistory.org or by sending a check to Delaware County Historical Society, 120 East Washington Street, Muncie, IN 47305.
